Renee Sams has been my very best friend, ever since we met as assistant directors on a music tour back in 2000. Since then we both moved to Nashville, started our own music group, were roomies for four years, went on several more music tours together, became good rock climbers together, and have been there for each other through the up's and down's of our lives.

Holy cow! We had the biggest adventure yet when Renee came all the way across the ocean to visit me in Asia. We did so many exciting and new things together. We ate strange things together. We climbed mountains, drifted down rivers, discovered ceilings so low that even Renee could touch them, played in a badminton tournament, taught English classes, made new Asian friends, and much much more! Unforgettable best buddy time.

For the 4th of July, Renee and Cory and I spent the day hiking around Elk Mountain, down in the Wichita Mountains, as well as playing games and going to a movie.  We had a great day together!
      
We broke in Cory and Renee's new house by having a HUGE garage sale as I "liquidated my assets" (and the Sams got rid of some of their junk too). How fun! and we sold EVERYTHING but a few boxes of clothes. "All offers will be accepted"  
                 
I drove up to Iowa for a quick weekend and my trustworthy travel buddy came with!  She helped in the kitchen and my family had a fun lunch together to celebrate my anti-climactic graduation from college after FINALLY completing the one class that has been hanging over my head for 7 years! WOW! And Renee was there taking pictures as I met Malachi for the FIRST TIME - in the parking lot of Biaggis restaurant.  What an unforgettable moment!

      
We took another road trip together up to Iowa while Emily was still pregnant, just to hang out with the family. GREAT memories!  (notice Renee trying to appear the same height as Emily and me - ha!)

Cory, Renee, and I enjoyed the Glenn Beck Christmas show together when he came through Oklahoma in December of 2006.

  

 

 

 

 

 

Renee and I drove to south Oklahoma to explore Mt. Scott. We hiked all the way to the top and it took us all day, and was really hard work scrambling over boulders for so many hours.   It was very rewarding when we finally finished.

 

 

 

I think that it's true for Renee as well as me that Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, is one of our favorite places on EARTH!    I think my mom would probably agree with us too!  We have gone there several times on vacations and each time is unforgettable.
